On the occasion of the commemoration of the outbreak of World War 2 on 1 September 2016, we experienced in Wieluń the grandiose presentation “To jest Polska” (This is Poland) by the ensemble “Śląsk” (en.wikipedia)
It alternated perfectly synchronized dancing groups in various Silesian and Polish costumes with artistic dance interludes and solo vocals, accompanied by a chorus, in which some shiver rans down the spine. An excellent small orchestra supported the singers and dancers with folkloric melodies, but also modern Slavic music with some intricate rhythms. An impressive concert, technically at international musical level!
